Korlai Fort Trek

I went to Korlai fort trek on 01 October 2017. This was one of the most memorable trek in my life. Almost 3 years are passed but memories of Kolai fort trek are still fresh in my mind. In this trek there was 4 people including me. On 01 October 2017 that was sunday. We all friends met at 7.00 am in the morning at Churchgate railway station. This was trek we were not going through any trekker group. One of our friend went to Korlai fort trek earlier. So she was trek leader to guide us for Korlai fort trek. We have taken Cutting Chai and Bun maska Paav for snacks outside Churchgate railway station. Mumbaikar cant live without cutting Chai. Without cutting chai any trek is incomplete for Mumbaikars.

Korlai Fort
Korlai Fort and Light House

Korlai is a small but marine fort near Revdanda village where the launch has to land for Alibag. After crossing the bridge over Revdanda creek, Korlai village starts at 3 km on Revdanda-Murud road. There is a road from the village to the fort. If you take the road from the village to the fort, you can drive up to the steps. At the foot is the Navy's lighthouse. There are cement steps from here to the door. Upon entering through this door, one can see the inner fallen door of the fort on the left. After descending a little from here, you can see Machi known as Pachuchi Dhar which descends directly into the sea.

Looking at the view of the ships entering the bay from here, it seems that we are seeing the view of Italy or the Gulf of Venice from the film. After entering the fort, you will pass through the fallen gates and reach the fort. Inside are the remains of a Portuguese church and a water tank. Some guns are found on the bastion.

Surrounded by natural beauty, the fort offers a long beach near Korlai village. As the sun sets at sunset, a spectacular display of red colors can be seen on the sea water. It is very dark when the sun sets. Before that, you can see the bridge over the Revdanda creek from above, the large sailing near the plow and the colorful names of the spiders in the village of Korlai below.
