Goecha La Trek

Goecha La arguably offers the best trek in India, if you wish to be up-close and personal with some of the most majestic Himalayan peaks ( its also one of the most gruelling, and lasts for 10 days.

Standing at 15100 feet above sea level, this high mountain pass features the tear-shaped Goecha Lake, and rewards the most ardent trekkers with views of not just Kanchenjunga - the third highest peak in the world - but also 14 other big summits. The trek begins in the historical town of Yuksom , which once served as the capital of Sikkim, and is now a place to immerse yourself in the rich traditions and cultural offerings of the state. The trail takes you through lush oak plantations, dense rhododendron forests that are a riot of red in spring and up and down mountains and meadows rife with flowers post the rains.
