Best Tourist Places to Visit in Allahabad

Being a permanent resident of Allahabad, I have been frequently visiting the important places here, but the opportunity of systematic tourism came last year when a friend of Indian origin brought his Japanese wife and children and had to travel with them.

Foreign guests wanted to have a confluence bath first. We reached the fort under the dam in our car. Fixed an entire boat and took a bath at the confluence. After bathing, we had refreshments on the boat which we took with us from home.

After getting off the boat we went to Hanuman temple under the dam. Here there is a huge statue of Hanuman lying down the stairs from the flat land.

Shankar Vimana Mandapam Temple is 130 feet high and is in 4 blocks.

Permission letter has to be taken to enter Allahabad Fort. This fort was built by Emperor Ashoka. The Patalpuri temple is in the ground floor inside the fort. This huge, magnificent temple has 50 statues and 100 stone pillars. A branch of Akshaya Vat was seen here. The fort is now under the authority of the army. Construction of the fort started in 1583. The British rebuilt it and gave it a new look. A combination of Indian Iranian art is still seen in the fort.
